There are several types of eczema or sometimes referred to as dermatitis. Some of its more popular types are atopic dermatitis, allergic contact dermatitis, irritant contact dermatitis to name a few. Although eczema is a type of skin disorder that can be very persistent, the good thing is that it can be managed and eventually cured. You can fight off the redness and itchiness brought about by eczema with the help of these wonderful eczema home remedies. Read on to find out what they are!

1.) Take short but frequent baths or showers and wear loose fitting 100% cotton clothes

- Make it a point that you take short frequent showers using lukewarm water. Doing so will help you maintain your body’s moisture which you can easily lose whenever you take too many hot showers or long baths. You should also replace your usual soaps with mild variants, soaps specially made for dermatitis or moisturizing soap bars. Choose moisturizing creams with organic ingredients like Aloe Vera for example and apply it right after you had your warm bath. Some of the other moisturizing creams that are perfect for contact dermatitis treatment are those that contain Shea butter and cocoa butter. You can make use of petroleum jelly if you want as it can also help soothe the skin.

- In addition, do not wear tight fitting clothes and those made from polyester, wool and other artificial or synthetic fabrics since these can exacerbate your eczema symptoms, especially the itch! Choose clothes that are made of 100% cotton because your skin will be able to breathe more freely and your skin does not react badly towards it.

2.) Bring down your high stress levels and exercise regularly

- If you are constantly exposed to stressful situations, it can weaken your body’s immune system and eventually give way to eczema outbreaks. Managing your stress and taking the time wherein you can just unwind and relax can be very beneficial in treating your eczema. There are many relaxing techniques that you can try out. You can try positive affirmation tactics, deep and controlled breathing, Tai Chi, yoga, hypnosis, meditation and so on.

- Working out regularly is also another fantastic way of boosting the function of your immune system. Regular exercising can also help you de-stress. You can try running, walking, jogging, cycling, swimming etc. All of these are excellent ways of keeping the body healthy and in reducing stress.
